Caleb Tiernan
Caleb Tiernan is a prototypical developmental tackle prospect who combines rare length and functional athleticism with improving technique refined under a quality Big Ten program. His Eric Fisher comp is apt — Tiernan has the physical tools to grow into a quality NFL starter with proper coaching, but will require time and scheme patience before contributing at a high level. His football IQ is above average for the position, and he shows a willingness to work through technique corrections that scouts find encouraging.
Tiernan's technique is inconsistent — he gets too upright against interior power and will be exposed against NFL-caliber edge rushers who win quickly off the line. His competition level at Northwestern, while Big Ten, skewed toward defensive front diversity, and evaluators want to see how he handles elite one-gap athletes consistently. He is also a Day 3 value given questions about his functional athleticism in space and a medical flag on his left ankle that was managed late in the season.
